As a Visiting Clinical Assistant Professor at Indiana University, I managed course schedules and students in the English Education program area, collaborated on grant writing, and played a key role in researching and transitioning a face-to-face program to an online format.
As an English Language Learner Coordinator at Center Grove High School, I designed and implemented a successful program resulting in an 86% increase in test scores. I managed teacher aide staff, petitioned for changes in graduation requirements for English learners, and provided professional development to school and district staff.
My educational journey includes a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from Indiana University, focusing on Instruction Systems Technology and Literacy, Culture, and Language Education. My dissertation, "Immigration Stories in the English Learner Classroom," reflects my commitment to revealing funds of knowledge and creating brave spaces in literacy education.
